Our Leadership

Dr. Manal Francis
Dr. Manal was born in Egypt and works as a pediatric consultant at Harpur Memorial Hospital, and the head of the medical sector and training at the Episcopal Church in Egypt. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine in 1993, then a Diploma in Pediatrics in 1998 from Minia University, and a Diploma in Quality Management for Healthcare Organizations from the American University in 2015.
She received training in medical and spiritual work with Saline International and PRIME English in 2009, and the Christian Medical Fellowship in England. Her passion is serving Sunday School children, training newly graduated doctors, and participating in medical and evangelistic service convoys to South Sudan and Chad. Manal is the wife of Samah, the regional director of the Haggai International National Service in the Middle East and North Africa, and mother to Merit, an intensive care physician, and Mohib, a pharmacist at Harpur Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Samir Rizkalla Bekhit
He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1971 and a Master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1980, in addition to several training courses in hospital management. Dr. Samir served as a medical officer in the Egyptian Army from 1972 to 1976, and during that period he participated in the 6th October War. Dr. Samir worked in many hospitals until he settled at Sars Al-Layan General Hospital in 1981, where he worked as a specialist doctor in obstetrics and gynecology. Then he was chosen to be the director of that hospital from 1995 until 2005.
Dr. Samir worked at Harpur Memorial Hospital as a part-time doctor from 1982 until He was chosen to be the director of Harpur Hospital in Menouf in 2005. With the encouragement of Bishop Mounir Hanna, a new part was added to the internal medicine building in 2005, and with the increase of outpatient number in the hospital, the need arose for a new outpatient clinics building to accommodate the continues growth of the hospital. With the support of USAID (ASHA), a new outpatient clinic building was built that contains most of the services provided in the hospital. Dr. Samir dreams of completing the new clinic building to 9 floors as planned and introducing new services such as cardiac catheterization and dialysis, and for the hospital to be a teaching hospital whose activities extend inside and outside Egypt, especially in the Middle East and Africa.
