Under the Patronage of the President: Al-Nardine Association for the Deaf Participates in the Closing of the Second Edition of “Creativity of the Capable 2026”

The Al-Nardine Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, affiliated with the Episcopal Church, participated in the closing ceremony of the second edition of “Creativity of the Capable 2026,” held under the slogan “Your Talent… Your Strength,” and under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The event was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Jawhar Nabih and Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Madeline Sustanis, Director of the Educational Sector of the Diocese; Ms. Sherry Nabil, Director of Al-Nardine Association; Mr. Salem Wasif, a servant at All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral and advisor at the Christian-Muslim Center for Understanding and Partnership; and Ms. Claire Ghays, Deaf Ministry Advisor of the Diocese.

During the program, the talented participants John Emad and Fawzy Sobhy—both deaf or hard of hearing—presented outstanding artistic works that reflected their creativity. They achieved advanced rankings, with Fawzy Sobhy winning second place in fine arts (painting), and John Emad winning third place in drawing within the competition organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Jawhar Nabih, affirmed that the “Creativity of the Capable” program reflects the state’s commitment to empowering and integrating persons with disabilities, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He emphasized the ministry’s dedication to supporting talents and expanding participation in activities and programs across various governorates.

Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber also stressed that the state places great importance on persons with disabilities as an integral part of society, noting that the participants’ performances reflect their significant talent and creativity. He affirmed continued support for initiatives that promote social inclusion and human development.

The program comes as part of the state’s efforts to empower and integrate persons of determination, providing them with opportunities to express their talents and creativity across various artistic and cultural fields, including solo singing, religious chanting, radio and television presenting, instrumental performance, fine arts (painting, sculpture, photography), as well as folk arts.
