Today, Archbishop Dr. Sami Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal Church, received a delegation from the Mennonite Church in the United States at the Episcopal Diocese headquarters in Zamalek.
The meeting included discussions aimed at exploring opportunities for cooperation between the Diocese and the Mennonite Church. Archbishop Fawzy briefed the delegation on the wide range of activities carried out by the Diocese in Egypt through its affiliated institutions and ministries, which focus on advancing education, healthcare, and social services for those in need.
The Archbishop said:
“Our Church is ready to cooperate with the delegation in both ministry and development efforts on the spiritual and community-service levels. For many years, the Church has dedicated its various sectors to serving society and supporting those in need.”
He also highlighted the diverse ministries and services offered within Episcopal churches.
The delegation expressed its full commitment to supporting these important ministries, ranging from spiritual care to social and community development initiatives. They also discussed coordinating future programs and identifying beneficiaries for leadership and discipleship training, with the goal of fostering spiritual growth, biblical knowledge, and practical skills, and equipping participants to become influential leaders in their churches.
In addition, plans were discussed for developing vocational training and community awareness programs to further support individuals and communities.
