Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal/Anglican Church, presided over the Synod Conference of the Province of Alexandria, which was held in Uganda at the gracious invitation of Archbishop Dr. Stephen Kaziimba, Archbishop of the Anglican Church in Uganda.
The conference was attended by representatives of the four dioceses under the Province of Alexandria: the Diocese of Egypt, North Africa, Gambella, and the Horn of Africa. The participants discussed the vision and mission of the Province, as well as future arrangements for the consecration of new bishops in the emerging dioceses and mechanisms for supporting ministry in various regions.
The meeting also addressed the importance of integration and cooperation between the dioceses in order to strengthen joint efforts and serve the Anglican Church in the upcoming phase.
During his visit, Archbishop Samy Fawzy toured the capital, Kampala, where he visited All Saints’ Cathedral and several Anglican churches. He was warmly received by Archbishop Alfred Olwa and a number of church leaders. Archbishop Samy expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality and praised the spirit of love and unity that connects churches around the world.
