Bells of the Episcopal Cathedral Ring, Announcing the Start of the Easter Mass
The bells of All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek rang out to announce the beginning of the Glorious Easter Mass.
The procession led by Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy began, marking the official start of the Holy Mass. The Archbishop entered from his residence, preceded by the deacons, followed by the priests, and ending with the Archbishop himself at the rear of the ecclesiastical procession, which concluded at the church sanctuary.
The Mass opening ceremony included the lighting of the Paschal Candle, followed by the reading of prayers. The candle procession continued as small candles were lit. The procession paused at the center of the church for repeated prayers, then resumed until the Paschal Candle was placed on its special stand.
Meanwhile, the cathedral choir sang the hymn “Christ Is Risen Today”, celebrating Christ’s resurrection as part of the Easter Mass rituals.
