A short while ago, the Easter Mass began at All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek, led by Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Episcopal/Anglican Province of Alexandria.
As part of the Easter Mass rituals, the Archbishop invited all the faithful to begin the Prayer of Preparation after the cathedral choir sang “Christ Is Risen Today.”
During the Prayer of Preparation, the congregation recited the general confession:
“Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”
The Episcopal Church had commenced the Easter Mass at All Saints’ Cathedral in Arabic, with simultaneous sign language interpretation for the deaf and hard of hearing.
