The bells of All Saints’ Cathedral rang out, announcing the start of the glorious Christmas Mass. The Anglican Episcopal Church follows the Western calendar and celebrates the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ on the night of December 25.
As Archbishop Dr. Sami Fawzy entered in procession, the Divine Liturgy officially began. The procession emerged from its starting point, led by the deacons, followed by the priests, and concluded with the Archbishop at the head of the church, proceeding reverently toward the altar.
Meanwhile, the Cathedral Choir sang the hymn “This Is the Joyful Day,” celebrating the birth of Christ as part of the Christmas Mass liturgy.
Earlier, the Episcopal Church had been adorned with Christmas trees and festive lights hours before the Mass presided over by Dr. Sami Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Anglican Church. The service is conducted in both Arabic and English to serve Egyptians and expatriates, in addition to Egyptian Sign Language interpretation.
