Archbishop of the Episcopal Church Visits Youm7 Newspaper and Commends the Role of Egyptian Journalism Amid Technological Advancements

Today, Archbishop Dr. Sami Fawzi, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Anglican Episcopal Church, paid a visit to the headquarters of Youm7 newspaper in response to their kind invitation. He was received by journalist Abdel Fattah Abdel Moneim, Editor-in-Chief of Youm7; journalist Mohamed El-Ahmady, head of the Coptic affairs file at Youm7; along with a number of the website’s senior leaders and journalists.

During the visit, the Archbishop expressed his deep appreciation for the pivotal role played by Egyptian journalism in raising public awareness and conveying facts with professionalism and responsibility. He emphasized that journalism represents one of the fundamental pillars in building public consciousness and supporting societal stability.

He also praised the efforts of press institutions in keeping pace with rapid developments in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence, noting that these transformations pose new challenges, yet at the same time open broad horizons for the media to develop its tools and methods, enhance credibility, and reach audiences in more impactful ways.

The Archbishop affirmed that journalism, despite the evolution of digital platforms, will remain a human and ethical mission grounded in professional values and the pursuit of truth. He stressed the importance of employing artificial intelligence and modern technology in ways that support journalistic work without diminishing its role or undermining its message.
