Today, Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal/Anglican Church, visited His Grace Bishop Basilios Fawzy, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Minya for the Coptic Catholics, during his visit to Minya Governorate. He was accompanied by a delegation of leaders from the Episcopal Church.
The visit was also attended by Bishop Emeritus Dr. Mouneer Hanna, Director of the Christian-Islamic Center for Understanding and Partnership; Dr. Mohamed Abou Zeid, Coordinator of the Egyptian Family House; Mr. Selim Wasif, a lay servant from the Episcopal Church; and Mr. Maqar El-Omda, Coordinator of the Egyptian Family House in Minya.
This meeting reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between the different churches as a fundamental pillar for promoting understanding and building bridges—especially in light of the challenges facing communities today. Such visits contribute to uniting efforts in serving humanity and spreading the values of peace and coexistence.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in warm discussions on ways to enhance cooperation in pastoral ministry and community service, emphasizing the importance of unity in love and peace within Egyptian society.
