During His Visit to the Social Center in Suez Archbishop: Investing in Individuals Is a True Investment in the Future of Communities

Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal Church, visited the Social Center serving the Arab Al-Maamal community in Suez to learn about its activities and services provided to local residents. He was accompanied by Reverend Ihab Ayoub, pastor of the Church of the Savior in Suez.

The Archbishop praised the efforts made by the center, and during his tour of the women’s ministry, he stated:
“Caring for individuals is a true investment in the future of communities, especially the empowerment of women to support their families and society.”
He referenced the story of the Canaanite woman from the Gospel of Matthew, who demonstrated unwavering faith despite challenges, saying that the story reflects the importance of trust and persistence in seeking change—whether personal or communal.

He continued:
“Although Christ appeared silent at first, she did not lose hope. Instead, she showed a living faith and unshakable confidence. Her story inspires us to persevere, to never cease praying, and motivates us in our community work. It reminds us that every person has value regardless of their circumstances or background, and that every woman has the strength to overcome adversity if she truly believes in change.”

The Archbishop then toured the sewing workshop and the children’s ministry, observing efforts to train young girls in handicraft skills and empower them. He also explored the children’s programs aimed at developing their spiritual and educational abilities. He affirmed the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the church’s mission of community service.
