The Episcopal Church Hosts Dina Ghabbour, CEO of the Ghabbour Foundation for Development

Today, the Center for Christian Muslim Understanding and Partnership, affiliated with the Episcopal Church, in cooperation with the Gusour Cultural Center and SAT-7 TV, organized a seminar as part of the “Success Stories” program. The guest speaker was businesswoman Dina Ghabbour, CEO of the Ghabbour Foundation for Development. The event was held in the hall of All Saints’ Cathedral in Zamalek, in the presence of Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal Church, and Dr. Mouneer Hanna, Archbishop Emeritus and Director of the Center.

Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy opened the event, saying: “I welcome one of the most inspiring figures in our community, Mrs. Dina Ghabbour — not only for her professional achievements or personal distinction, but because she is a living model of servant leadership and success rooted in values and a commitment to human and societal well-being.”

He continued: “What makes her accomplishments especially notable is not merely her ability to reach influential positions, but her ability to use those positions to build people up, empower youth, and support initiatives that serve the poor and marginalized. She also encourages them to believe that success is not about rising above others, but rising with them, and that we serve not out of need, but out of strength and responsibility.”

Dina Ghabbour spoke about formative moments from her childhood, noting how her mother was a model of compassion and generosity, which had a deep impact on shaping her character. She also shared about her travels abroad and the major challenges she faced, emphasizing that it is challenges that create real change and shape our lives.

She concluded by speaking about the criteria she uses to choose the people with whom she invests her time and energy, affirming that success only comes through belief in the project, determination to succeed, and a willingness to account for risk.

It is worth noting that the Center for Christian Muslim Understanding and Partnership was established in June 2022 by the Episcopal Diocese of Egypt in cooperation with Al-Azhar. The center aims to serve Egyptian society by promoting peace, understanding, and interfaith cooperation through academic programs, community initiatives, and peacebuilding and conflict-resolution projects. The Gusour Cultural Center was founded in 2011 to build bridges of love among Egyptian youth through cultural and artistic activities.
