His Grace Bishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Episcopal Province of Alexandria, presided over the English-language Holy Eucharist this morning at All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek, attended by church members from various nationalities.
In his sermon, the Archbishop reflected on the parable of the wedding banquet for the king’s son, explaining that the feast symbolizes God’s freely given grace, prepared for humanity through His Son, Jesus Christ. He emphasized that God’s invitation is open to everyone without discrimination and that God calls each person into a genuine relationship with Him—one that goes beyond participation in worship and is reflected in daily life and interactions with others.
The Archbishop explained that ignoring God’s invitation does not always take the form of outright rejection. It may instead be reflected in becoming preoccupied with work and daily responsibilities, allowing one’s relationship with God to take a secondary place.
He stressed that the Christian life does not mean abandoning life’s responsibilities, but rather putting God first, so that family, work, and everyday decisions become part of a life of faith and service to God’s Kingdom.
The Archbishop affirmed that truly responding to God’s call requires faith to be present in every aspect of life, with one’s relationship with Christ becoming a daily practice reflected in personal choices, conduct, and human relationships.
He concluded by explaining that God’s invitation is not merely a passing moment of faith, but a renewed opportunity to live according to His will and make one’s life a testimony to His love for others.
