Archbishop Samy Fawzy at Episcopal Theological College Meeting: Receiving God’s Grace Calls for Genuine Transformation in Human Life

Cairo – Friday, October 9, 2026

His Grace Bishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Episcopal Province of Alexandria, participated today in a meeting of the Episcopal Theological College at All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek. The meeting was attended by Dr. Shady Anis, Dean of the College, and college students.

In his address, the Archbishop reflected on the meaning of the wedding garment, explaining that it does not refer to outward appearance, but symbolizes the salvation God grants humanity and the new life that grows through faith in Christ.

He noted that receiving God’s grace involves more than simply believing in it; it calls for genuine inner transformation that is reflected in a person’s thoughts, actions, and interactions with others.

The Archbishop emphasized that the fruits of this transformation are evident in love, compassion, humility, patience, forgiveness, and faithfulness. He stressed that these qualities should be manifested in every area of life, whether in the church, at home, at work, or in the wider community.

He explained that a life reflecting God’s grace brings together practical faith and everyday conduct, enabling people to serve others with love and sincerity.

He concluded by affirming that responding to God’s call becomes a lifelong journey, expressed through steadfastness, love, and service to others, as well as through sharing God’s grace with them and inviting them to partake in the banquet of the Kingdom of God.
