Cairo – Monday, October 5, 2026
His Grace Bishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Episcopal Province of Alexandria, presided over the Holy Eucharist at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Giza. He was joined in prayer by Rev. Michel Milad, the church’s vicar, and Lay Minister Adel Fayek, in the presence of church members and the families of the graduates, as the church celebrated its members who had completed various stages of their education.
In his sermon, the Archbishop reflected on the parable of the wicked tenants and the stone rejected by the builders that became the cornerstone. He explained that all human abilities, talents, and successes are gifts from God and a trust entrusted to each person.
The Archbishop emphasized that people are stewards of the gifts and abilities God has given them, and that they are called to use them for good and to bear fruitful outcomes through their lives and actions.
Addressing the graduates, he noted that every stage of life has its own fruit, and that graduation is not the end of the journey but the beginning of a new chapter. He encouraged graduates from all educational stages to use their knowledge, talents, and work in service to the church and the wider community.
The celebration featured a black-light theatre performance presented by the Sunday School Ministry under the leadership of Raja Lotfy. Graduates from various educational stages were also honored in the presence of their families and fellow church members.
The celebration concluded with congratulations to the graduates and honorees, along with prayers that God would guide them through their new stages of life and use their talents and lives in service to their community.
