The Anglican Episcopal Church provided live sign language interpretation services and designated a special area for the Deaf and hard of hearing inside All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek, where Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Alexandria Province of the Episcopal Church, is presiding over the Glorious Easter service.
The Church stated that this ministry is overseen by Rev. Clement of the Episcopal Church in Old Cairo, with Claire Gais and Ramz Bakhit providing live sign language interpretation. The Episcopal Church is considered one of the first churches in Egypt to actively serve the Deaf and hard of hearing community.
Earlier, the bells of All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek rang out to announce the beginning of the Glorious Easter service.
