The Glorious Easter Holy Eucharist began a short while ago at All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral, presided over by Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Alexandria Province of the Episcopal/Anglican Church.
As part of the Easter liturgical rites, the Archbishop invited all the faithful to begin the Prayer of Preparation after the cathedral choir chanted “Christ Is Risen Today.”
During the Prayer of Preparation, the congregation recited the general confession:
“Our God, the Almighty, before whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You and worthily magnify Your holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
The Episcopal Church had begun the Easter service at All Saints’ Cathedral in Zamalek in Arabic, with simultaneous sign language interpretation for the Deaf and hard of hearing.
