The bells of All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek rang out to announce the beginning of the Glorious Easter service.
The procession of Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy entered the cathedral to mark the start of the Holy Eucharist. The procession began from his residence, led by deacons and followed by the priests, culminating with the Archbishop at the end of the ecclesiastical procession as it entered the sanctuary of the church.
The service began with the lighting of the Easter candle, followed by the recitation of prayers. The candle procession continued as small candles were lit throughout the congregation. The procession paused in the middle of the church with repeated prayers, then continued once again until the Paschal candle was placed on its designated stand.
Meanwhile, the cathedral choir chanted the hymn “Christ Is Risen Today,” celebrating the Resurrection of Christ as part of the Easter liturgy.
