Archbishop of the Episcopal Church Presides Over Annual Renewal of Pastoral Vows and Consecration of Chrism Oil

Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Alexandria Province of the Episcopal/Anglican Church, presided over the Holy Eucharist service for the annual renewal of pastoral vows, along with the consecration of chrism oil, at All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek. The service was attended by a number of priests and church servants from various Episcopal churches.

During the liturgy, the Archbishop and the clergy renewed their ordination and ministry vows before God, reaffirming their commitment to their pastoral mission in serving God and the people, and in promoting the values of love and the message of the Gospel. The service also included the consecration of chrism oil, which is used in various sacramental rites of the Church.

In his spiritual address, the Archbishop emphasized the importance of humility in ministry, urging priests and church servants to continue their work with a spirit of dedication and selflessness, drawing close to the people and serving them with genuine love that reflects the teachings of Jesus Christ.

It is worth noting that the renewal of pastoral vows and the consecration of oil are among the important annual rites in the Episcopal Church, during which clergy gather on Maundy Thursday to renew their spiritual calling and reaffirm their unity in ministry.
