The Early Childhood Education Program of the Education Sector of the Episcopal/Anglican Church, under the supervision of Ms. Madeleine Sostanis, Director of the Education Sector, organized a series of training workshops for newly appointed and beginner kindergarten teachers in the Church’s preschools.
A total of 25 teachers from various service areas participated, including Ras El-Soda, Ezbet El-Nakhl, Kilo 4.5, Menouf, Zamalek, Ain Shams, El-Salam, El-Tawabeq, and Suez. The training covered key concepts related to the development and evolution of early childhood education, as well as an overview of Egypt’s Vision 2030 and its four main pillars on which the new curricula are based: “Learn to Work – Learn to Know – Learn to Be – Learn to Live Together.”
The program also introduced the “Connect and Discover” curriculum adopted in the Church’s preschools, which aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for early childhood education, in addition to presenting the “Seeds” curriculum, which emphasizes core human values and principles. The training included an introduction to the Montessori educational philosophy, project and center management, and practical sessions on organizing the daily preschool program in both Arabic and English.
To ensure practical experience, the new teachers received on-the-job training at the Ain Shams Preschool, in collaboration with the teaching teams from the Ain Shams and El-Salam preschools. The program concluded with a workshop on producing educational materials, focusing on their objectives, importance, production standards, and methods of implementation within classroom activities.
The training team included Rasha Salama (Director of El-Salam Preschool), Amira Halim (Director of Ain Shams Preschool), and Christine Eid (Director of El-Tawabeq Preschool), under the supervision of Ms. Gehan Issa, Director of Early Childhood and Education Programs, with the participation of the preschool directors.
This initiative represents a model of investing in human resources and preparing a second generation of qualified educators within the program.
