Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Anglican Episcopal Church, participated in the episcopal ordination service of Archimandrite Dismas Kinos Al-Azraei for the Mariout Diocese under the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria.
The service was presided over by His Beatitude Pope Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, at the Patriarchal Monastery of St. George, in the presence of Rev. Yeshua Bakhit, Secretary-General of the Council of Churches of Egypt, along with clergy and religious leaders.
The Archbishop extended his congratulations to Archimandrite Dismas, praying for God’s blessing and grace upon his new ministry. He prayed that God grant him wisdom and strength to lead his people with love and sincere care, that his ministry may become a source of blessing and growth for the Church, and that God may use him as an instrument of peace and unity among the faithful.
The Archbishop also highlighted the good relationship between the two churches within the Council of Churches of Egypt, noting their shared commitment to ecumenical work and joint efforts in serving the community.
