The Refugee Sector of the Episcopal/Anglican Church organized an awareness day for refugee families at Jesus Light of the World Episcopal Church in Old Cairo.
The event began with a lecture on harassment, its effects, and related psychological support, followed by another session on the family’s role and the importance of education and upbringing in shaping children’s futures. During the meeting, participants were also introduced to the services provided by the Egypt Shelter Foundation, including its medical clinics department, aid department, and employment department.
On the entertainment side, the “Hearts That Love You” team presented a program for children featuring short plays, interactive games, and face-painting activities, bringing joy and happiness to the young participants. The day concluded with the distribution of gifts to all attendees.
It is worth noting that the Refugee Service Office of the Episcopal Church provides support to refugees, displaced persons, and asylum seekers living in Egypt who have fled their home countries due to war or disasters. The office’s mission is to offer humanitarian assistance, psychological encouragement, and help refugees build self-reliance and self-respect.
