The Refugee Sector of the Anglican/Episcopal Church organized a Back-to-School celebration for refugee children in collaboration with the Smile Makers team. The event was attended by Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal/Anglican Church, Rev. Dr. Yasser Koko, pastor of the Sudanese congregation, and Dr. Iman Nakhla, Director of the Refugee Sector in the diocese. The celebration took place at All Saints’ Cathedral in Zamalek.
The day included many enjoyable activities such as games, face painting, short plays, and various performances that brought joy to the children’s hearts. The event concluded with the distribution of gifts to all participants.
This celebration reflects the Episcopal Church’s commitment to supporting refugee children and bringing happiness into their lives, as part of its ongoing mission to provide a safe and loving environment for all refugees in Egypt.
It is worth noting that the Episcopal Church’s Refugee Service Office offers assistance to displaced persons, refugees, and asylum seekers living in Egypt who have fled their home countries due to war or disasters. The office strives to provide humanitarian aid, psychological support, and programs that promote self-reliance and self-respect.
