The Archbishop of the Episcopal Church Participates in the Sudanese Ministry Leaders Conference

Today, The Most Reverend Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal/Anglican Church, took part in the activities of the Sudanese Ministry Leaders Conference, held at Beit El-Ragaa in the 10th of Ramadan City. The event was attended by Rev. Dr. Yasser Kuku, pastor of the Sudanese ministry at the Episcopal Church, and Bishop Yasser Eric, Bishop of the Diocese of Akeus.

The Archbishop delivered a series of lectures addressing the image of the shepherd as presented in both the Old and New Testaments. He explained that the true shepherd is one who embodies wisdom and responsibility, leading God’s people with love and sincerity. The lectures also highlighted various dimensions of the shepherd’s role—not only as a leader but as a servant reflecting the heart of God.

He further emphasized the importance of discipleship as a core element in the shepherd’s life and ministry, noting that true discipleship begins with a deep relationship with Christ and extends to accompanying others and helping them grow spiritually and emotionally. He stressed the pastor’s role in supporting young people in particular, affirming that listening to them, understanding their needs, and encouraging them with love helps raise a new generation of faithful leaders capable of carrying the message and transforming their communities in the spirit of the Gospel.

The conference aims to empower leaders to embody their faith amid challenges through an educational and spiritual journey that produces effective leadership rooted in discipleship and the Word of God. It also encourages them to see challenges as opportunities for growth, grounded in God’s promise: “Behold, I am doing a new thing.”
