Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal Church, extends his deepest condolences on behalf of the clergy and congregation of the Episcopal Church to the Catholic Church and its people on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, praying that the Lord may grant comfort and peace to all hearts.
The Archbishop added: “He was a father and a leader who embodied the true meaning of service throughout his life. He extended a hand of love to all in need and opened his heart—even before his words—to all who sought comfort and hope. His mission was not confined within the walls of the church but reached out to touch every person. Today, we lift our prayers in gratitude for his life.”
The Archbishop affirmed that Pope Francis was a voice of mercy and justice in a world full of challenges, devoting his life to serving the poor and marginalized, carrying the message of Christ wherever he went. He was a model of humility and love for all of us, and he was universally recognized for his wisdom and fatherly care that spanned decades.
