All Saints’ Cathedral Shines with Lights in Celebration of The Easter

Today, All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek was adorned with lights in celebration of the Glorious Feast of the Resurrection, just hours before the Easter Mass, which will be led by Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Episcopal/Anglican Province of Alexandria.

The Easter Mass is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM this evening, following the ringing of the cathedral bells announcing the start of the prayers. The church has provided a live broadcast of the service on the official Facebook page of the Episcopal Church in Egypt, along with sign language interpretation for the deaf and hard of hearing.

It is worth noting that the Province of Alexandria is the 41st province of the worldwide Anglican Communion, overseeing 10 countries: Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Chad, and Mauritania. This province is under the leadership of Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy.

In Egypt, the Episcopal Church began its ministry in 1815. The first Episcopal Church was established in Alexandria in 1839, when Muhammad Ali Pasha, the ruler of Egypt, granted a piece of land in Mansheya Square in Alexandria for the construction of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral.
