
Today, Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Anglican Episcopal Church, along with his accompanying delegation, visited His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, to offer Easter greetings at the Papal headquarters in the Abbassia Cathedral.
In his remarks, Archbishop Dr. Samy said: “It is a great blessing to meet Your Holiness today.” He added, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Your Holiness on the occasion of the Feast, and we also offer our sincere condolences to the Church for the passing of His Eminence Anba Pachomius, the senior Metropolitan of the Orthodox Church.”
The Archbishop continued: “We thank God for the ancient Church in Egypt and for the sound Orthodox faith. We pray that the Church remains a beacon of faith, preserved by grace, and united in love and peace.”
His Holiness Pope Tawadros II expressed his joy at the visit, saying: “We pray that God may sustain love and peace in the land of Egypt, that blessed land sanctified by the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.” His Holiness then presented commemorative gifts to the Archbishop and his delegation.
