Archbishop Dr. Mouneer Hanna Anees
The Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal/Anglican Church
– He was born in 1950 in Menoufia.
He graduated from Kasr Al-Aini College of Medicine in 1974
He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Tropical Medicine and became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine in the United Kingdom. He also studied Internal Medicine and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at the Royal College for Graduate Studies in London.
– He studied hospital management in Los Angeles, California, in the United States.
He worked as director of Harpur Memorial Hospital in Menouf, which is affiliated to the Episcopal/Anglican Church, since 1980, for a period of twenty years.
He studied Theology from More University in Sydney, Australia before his ordination.
He was ordained Archbishop of the diocese in Egypt, North Africa and the Horn of Africa in 2000.
He was installed as Archbishop of Jerusalem and the Middle East region from 2007 until 2017.
– He was elected President of the Anglican Communion in the Global south from 2012 until now.

Bishop Samy Fawzy
Bishop of the North African region of the Episcopal/Anglican Church
– He was born in 1963 in Cairo
Graduated from the College of Engineering in 1985
Obtained a Diploma in Theology from the University of Wales in 1991
He obtained a master’s degree in theology from the University of Birmingham in 1998
He received his PhD in Theology from the University of Birmingham in 2002
– He was ordained a deacon at All Saints Cathedral in Zamalek in 1990
– Ordained as a priest in 1991
He served as an assistant chaplain in the Church in Alexandria from 1991 until 1994
He served as assistant pastor to the Bishop from 1994 to 1997
He served the pastor of the Church in Alexandria since 2002 until now
Lecturer at the Alexandria School of Theology since 2005 until now
Dean of St. Mark’s Pro-Cathedral in Alexandria since 2009 until now
He held the position of Director of the Alexandra School of Theology from 2012 until now
He has been installed as bishop of North Africa since 2017
– He was chosen as Vise-Archbishop of 2020
