“Together for Egypt “continues with community art activities

Today, the Together we develop Egypt project completes the activities of the creative arts workshop under the title “Art for Society” with Dr. Hatem Al-Wakeel, the Creative Facilitator, at the headquarters of the All Saints Cathedral in Zamalek.

Today’s activities began with an entertainment activity, and then after that, the youth discussed how to implement community-based initiatives and projects based on the arts, through the ideas that were presented throughout the day about their wishes and dreams for the society in which they live, and then after that, the youth discussed how to transform dreams into projects on the ground Through a presentation on the projects, the discussion then took place on how to enable other communities to bring their dreams to life.

The Cairo Community Initiative started on the fourteenth of last August, in partnership with the Gusuor Cultural Center of the Episcopal/ Anglican Church, where it began with a training day for young people entitled “Art for Society”, based on the project’s vision to enhance knowledge and acceptance of the other, uphold common values, and activate work Collective is based on the celebration of difference.

For his part, Ramez Bekhit, the project supervisor, said – in the statement issued by the Church -: This training is designed to build a community team capable of launching programs in local communities that unleash the creative energies of young people and enable them to implement community projects that instill love and peace among the various spectrums of society.

The project is being held under the auspices of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal/ Anglican Church in Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa, and the Misr El-Kheir Foundation

The project will include a set of initiatives and events in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, Minya, and the cities of Sadat and Menouf in Menoufia.

The project aims to establish strong and real relationships and friendships between young people, develop their capabilities and raise their cultural and civilizational awareness, in addition to the participation of trainees together in implementing practical initiatives that benefit their local communities, with the aim of reaching a degree of integration and quality of work by communicating with government agencies and community organizations works in the same direction that their initiative is related to.
