The bells of All Saints Cathedral in Zamalek rang out to announce the start of the Christmas mass, as the Episcopal/ Anglican Church follows the Western calendar and celebrates the Nativity of Christ on the night of the twenty-fifth of December.
As the procession of Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy began to enter to announce the start of the Divine Liturgy, led by deacons and then priests, to reach the archbishop of the church at the end ecclesiastical procession that ends with the church’s structure.
While the cathedral choir sang “Joy to the world”, which celebrates the birth of Christ and is sung as part of the Christmas Mass
It is worth noting that the church imposed strict precautionary measures due to the Coronavirus, in which it was keen to provide disinfectants and masks for all worshipers and to observe social distancing.
The Episcopal Church was decorated with Christmas trees and Christmas lights hours before the start of the feast mass, which is headed by Dr. Sami Fawzy, Archbishop of Alexandria for the Anglican Church, in both Arabic and English to serve Egyptians and foreigners.
