Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Episcopal/Anglican Province of Alexandrian, received Dominic Goh, the Ambassador of Singapore in Cairo, at the headquarters of All Saints Cathedral.
The Church said in a statement today, that the Archbishop stressed the depth of the relationship between the Anglican Church in Egypt and the Singaporean Embassy, as well as the Church in Singapore.
The Archbishop said that the relationship with the Singapore Church opens new horizons in the church service and adds to its spiritual experiences coming from the Asian community with a distinctive culture.
For his part, the ambassador presented to the Archbishop a book that includes the story of the rise of Singapore, as it enjoys strong diplomatic relations with Cairo, as Egypt was one of the first countries to recognize Singapore’s independence.
The Archbishop has been receiving ambassadors of foreign countries that have cooperative relations with the Church, most notably the ambassadors of the United States, Britain, and the Netherlands.
