Dr. Mouneer Hanna, Archbishop of the Episcopal/Anglican Church, congratulated His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the anniversary of the great October victory, in a congratulatory telegram sent to the Presidency of the Republic, stressing that the October War is a message highlighting the Egyptians ’adherence to the soil of their country.

In a statement today, Monday, Hanna congratulated the masses of Egyptians on the 47th anniversary of the Great Crossing Battle, saying: The October War wiped out the effects of the setback and restored to Egypt its prestige and position as a regional power influencing the political, military and popular people.

The Archbishop of the Episcopal/Anglican Church added: On this occasion, we thank God that the spirit of the October victory is still active and influential in our Egyptian military establishment, whose people pay their blood daily as a price for freedom and dignity in the battles of the war on terror.

Hanna continued: We thank God that the spirit of October victory is still leading our country towards prosperity, progress and development after the state of victory passed to a new generation of Egyptian soldiers who saved the country in dark moments during the June 30 revolution after the Egyptians demanded their army to intervene to save the country from an unknown fate.

He concluded: We pray in the name of the Church to Egypt and the political leadership that the memory of the October victory remains a catalyst and a motive for the march of progress, development and safety.
