This Saturday, the 29th of June 2019, we were so proud to celebrate the graduation of 10 new nurses from our Nursing School in Menouf! This is the first class to graduate from the Harpur Memorial Nursing School. We are so proud of the hard work these nurses have put in over the last 2 years, and it was a joy to celebrate them. All 10 nurses will now begin working full time in Harpur Hospital, Menouf. And because of their hard work, they now have a stable job and a bright future!
So many people are a part of this amazing programme, and we want to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the Nursing School. We were especially excited to have Mrs. Becki Thompson, the founder of the nursing school, with us for the graduation. Nurse Rachel and Nurse Lindsay have spent many hours mentoring and instructing our students, and we are very thankful to them. We also want to thank Phibi Isaac (Translator and Administrative Assistant), Dr. Samir Rizkalla (the Director of Harpur Hospital), and Bishop Mouneer. Without their guidance and support of all of these people, this programme would not be what it is today.
The beautiful graduation ceremony honoured our graduates, but most importantly gave honour and thanks to God for His provision and support of our students and staff. We heard a reading from Matthew 25:35-40, and were blessed with a few speeches which focussed on servant leadership and glorifying God through our service and vocations. The graduates each received a Harpur Memorial Nursing School Pin, a tradition in nursing schools throughout the world, to signify their achievement which they will wear proudly as graduates and ambassadors of the program. We are so proud we are of our class valedictorian, Heba Mouneer, and our student-elected speaker, Martha Adel! But we are proud of all 10 of our graduates, and we know God will use them to bless many people in the years to come.
Please pray for these 10 women as they begin their service as nurses. Pray also for the Harpur Memorial Nursing School staff as they continue to build this wonderful programme.
