Dr. Mouneer Hanna, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria of the Episcopal/Anglican Church in Egypt, congratulated Counselor Hanafi El-Gabali, Speaker of the House of Representatives, who was elected yesterday, wishing the new parliament to work in the interest of the country in that delicate stage of the country’s life as Egypt faces internal, external and regional challenges
Hanna said in a statement today: We are confident that Counselor Al-Jabali, with his extensive legal and legislative experience, will constitute a strong addition to the Egyptian parliamentary life with a long history, as the Egyptian Parliament is the oldest in Africa and the Middle East.
The head of the Episcopal Church wished that God would grant wisdom to the new and old deputies and that the House of Representatives would form a positive impetus to the Egyptian political life, both legislative and executive.
