Dr. Mouneer Hanna, Archbishop of the Province of Alexandria, congratulated the Episcopal/Anglican Church to the masses of women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, expressing his hope for a more righteous world that gives women their rights without discrimination or pressure.
Hanna said in a statement today: The woman occupies a prominent position in Christian thought, as she is the Virgin, the mother of Christ, who was raised by the Bible to a higher position. The Episcopal/Anglican Church also believes in the prominent role that women play in the church as a preacher, educator, and teacher in the various church services.
Hanna praised the role that Egyptian women at all levels, whether they chose to work as a housewife or who decided to enter the labor market and thus achieved impressive successes in all sectors and at all administrative and executive levels.
He concluded: We pray to women that God will grant them the strength to overcome difficulties and wisdom to contribute to the development of societies and mercy, so that they may have mercy on the tired and the needy.
