Dr. Mouneer Hanna, the honorary head of the Episcopal/Anglican Church bishops, and Dr. Sami Fawzy, the current Archbishop of the Church, congratulated Dr. Ali Gomaa, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars in Al-Azhar, on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha at his office.
The two bishops presented Sheikh Gomaa with a book, Beacon of Hope, which narrates the biography of 20 years of the Episcopal Church’s journey and the achievements and service of Archbishop Munir Hanna in it, where they exchanged talks about the book.
The two bishops pointed out that the idea of the sacrifice is mentioned in the Bible and the Qur’an, where the Old Testament tells the story of Abraham, the father of all the prophets, and how his son responded to him in order to carry out God’s commandment, so he sacrificed him with a great ram
Bishop Mouneer Hanna said that he has a long personal friendship with Sheikh Ali Gomaa, who represents the true moderate spirit of Islam through his fatwas and his service in social work at the Misr El Kheir Association, which provides pioneering services to the community.
While Bishop Samy Fawzy emphasized the depth of love and fraternal feelings of the Episcopal/Anglican Church of Sheikh Dr. Ali Gomaa, where he is an essential guest in many events and occasions
For his part, Dr. Ali Gomaa expressed his happiness with the visit of the bishops, wishing for the continuation of the church service and success for Bishop Sami to complete the path of Bishop Munir Hanna in the church and society together.
