The Cairo Research Centre

The Cairo Research Centre is a meeting place for researchers, scholars and members of the public who are interested in modern Egyptian history, society and culture. In collaboration with the Episcopal/Anglican Diocese of Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa, the Centre has access to an extensive archive of records related to the Episcopal/Anglican Church and the British community in Egypt.  The Centre holds regular events, workshops and seminars and provides access to affordable accommodation for visiting scholars and guests.

The Diocesan Archive

The Diocesan Archive contains records of the Episcopal/Anglican church and the British community in Egypt dating back to the mid-nineteenth century.  Contents include registers of baptisms, marriages and deaths, minute books, correspondence, orders of service, maps, plans, newsletters and printed pamphlets.  Attached to the archive is a library of academic books relating to the history, topography and architecture of Egypt and the Middle East.  Those seeking permission to consult the Diocesan Archive should apply to the Archivist.
