In the midst of political turmoil and violent clashes, including air strikes against rebel forces resulting in the destruction of Tripoli’s airport, Christ the King Church in Tripoli, Libya, recently celebrated a Harvest Thanksgiving Service. The church members gathered for fellowship, and to thank God for his faithfulness. Read Rev. Vasihar’s words below:
God is good and His mercy endures forever.
We just want you to know that the Lord was so good to us throughout the year 2014. Particularly this week, 28 November, there was uncertainty till the last moment whether there will be a worship service or not, after preparing and practicing a lot. But God made it possible. Due to the current situation of chaos and confusion we decided to celebrate the Harvest Thanksgiving Service inside the Church. We thank God that God has given us such a big Church so that all the sales, games and auction were conducted comfortably within the Church. Around 125 members attended the event, some even coming from far distant towns like Sabrata, Tharouna, Baniwalid and Zilitan.
Please continue to pray fervently for the church in Libya, and for peace to reign in that nation and throughout the world.
